Renowned activist Boniface Mwangi has broken his silence ahead of the weekly anti-government protests that are expected to resume tomorrow. Taking to his X account, Mwangi said he will be on the streets to exercise his democratic rights.
He said he was present when unarmed protesters stormed Parliament last Tuesday and he witnessed police shooting live bullets at the peaceful demonstrators. He called out police officers for cutting short the lives of innocent protesters who were not armed.
”I know tomorrow l will be in the streets. I was there last week. I made it to the precincts of Parliament when police opened fire on unarmed protestors. The innocent lives were cut short by Zakayo’s police. If you can’t be in the streets with us, stay home in solidarity” tweeted.
Mwangi further claimed that he has video evidence to prove that the fire at Parliament was started by the police to taint the image of protesters and justify why they used the live bullets. The protesters who stormed Parliament reportedly ate and left without destroying any property.
Some of the protesters were allegedly shot in the back after leaving Parliament. Police then reportedly started fake fires to portray the protesters as criminals.
” The fires inside the parliament were started by the police. I have video proof from the brave Kenyans who entered parliament. They ate and left. After they left, our police shot them in the back & started fake fires,” he added.
