A group of these officers did not report to work yesterday, engaging in a go-slow protest due to the unmet salary increment. The reasons behind the lack of the expected salary increase for Kenya Prison Service officers remain unclear. Prison officers have long complained of discrimination and poor treatment, including claims that some junior officers have not received new uniforms despite having served for over 10 years.
