Dreaded Haitian gang leader, Jimmy Chérizier, on Friday told interim Prime Minister Garry Conille that he would lay down his arms to initiate a national dialogue to restore peace, a move that has caught the attention of several social media users.
According to EFE, a Spanish news outlet, the gang leader was clad in a maroon jacket and glasses and seemed different from how he usually appears while he spoke about this.
His tone and gestures were quite different as he repeated the call for dialogue with the Haitian government, a move that has also caught the attention of several Kenyans who took to their different social media platforms to congratulate him.
Several sources have confirmed that this happened after the government under President William Ruto deployed several Kenya Police officers to go and help Haiti police deal with the gangs of Haiti that have taken over several regions in Haiti after the Assassination of their presidents.
