Jackson Kuria Kihara a young Kenyan policeman who for the past few days was spotted calling out the current regime during the anti government demonstrations has faced a disciplinary at his work place by his bosses. Kihara who is a Constable situated at Kamiti medium prison was interdicted from duty from 10th July.
According to the letter circulating on social media platforms, the police officer is said to face this for joining the demonstrations while in full police uniforms.
“This is to bring to your attention that, you are hereby interdicted from duty with effect from Wednesday 10th July, 2024 following an award of dismissal from the service on account of Any other conduct to the prejudice of good order or discipline or the security of a prison contrary to Prison Rule 124 (1) (x) of the prison rules chapter 90 laws of Kenya 2017 revised. In that on 24th June 2024 you were pictured carrying anti-government placards in demonstrations while on operational uniforms…” The statement read in part.
