A family in Majengo, Mombasa, is grieving the tragic death of Mohamed Abdullahi, who was killed while on a business errand. Reports indicate that Abdullahi stepped on a live wire submerged in a stagnant pool of water and was electrocuted on the spot. The family revealed that Abdullahi was en route to withdraw money from an Mpesa shop at the time of the incident.
In response, the family has urged Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) to provide compensation, noting that such accidents have occurred before. They have called for accountability and improvements to prevent future tragedies.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for the Azimio la Umoja Coalition, has voiced strong concern over recent deaths of Kenyans during protests. Odinga has demanded the arrest of police officers involved in the shooting and killing of innocent civilians, highlighting the need for justice and accountability in these incidents.
