Murang’a Woman rep Betty Maina and his husband Eric Wamumbi member of parliament for Mathioya have opted to pray at home today following threats by Genzs after voting yes to the finance bill.
The God fearing couple that has always been seen attending church services every Sunday today unlike other days did not show up today showing the tension that Genzs have caused to politicians following the voting of the bill.
This decision comes amidst widespread public outcry over the implications of the bill, which many fear could lead to increased taxes and a higher cost of living.
Betty Maina has taken to Facebook to notify her followers of her absence today in church due to fear and warning by Genzs. She took to social media to write,
“In our Sunday Fellowship with my husband Eric Wamumbi MP Mathira,” Betty Maina wrote, quoting a biblical passage: “For where two or three gather in my name, I am with them.”
